Summary | 07437: Adding subtitles or breaks between sub-questions of a long array-type question
Description | When we are dealing with array-type questions that have many subquestions (long Likert-type scales), it would be a good idea to group the subquestions into logical categories (e.g. if it is a scale about satisfaction with job with 20 subquestions, the first five are about the payment, the next five are about job conditions, the next four are about relationships etc), and these categories' titles should be visible to the respondent as a row between the groups of subquestions. The survey designer may also want to use breaks instead of titles to separate these groups of subquestions of the same array question. This solution would improve the look and maybe even validity of scales with many subquestions, since the respondent would be able to mentally group these subquestions, and they would not seem so many when grouped.
Additional Information | A possible solution: modify the "edit subquestions" menu
